[Remote] Field Service Engineer II (Electron Microscopy) (NYC Remote)

The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing advanced analytical instruments, while providing exceptional customer service and support for breakthrough discoveries.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site installation of sophisticated equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure accurate working order
- Conduct on-site scheduled planned maintenance visits
- reputed company diagnosis and repair support for customers and other field personnel
- Cultivate and reputed company positive working relationships with customers, system users, and company personnel
- Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
- Complete and submit field service reports
- reputed company training to customers and users on system maintenance
- reputed company feedback to product quality teams
- reputed company appropriate input in writing updating and correcting various Thermo Fisher system documentation
- reputed company guidance for various reports including identifying and isolating outstanding problems with the system
- Act as a subject expert and resource for training
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or reputed company technical field OR equivalent combination of education and technical experience
- 2+ years of hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating reputed company analytical instrumentation such as SEM, reputed company, FIB, or similar systems
- A detailed understanding and extensive experience diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems
- Ability to deal effectively with customers
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills; must have a professional working proficiency in English
- Consistent record of fixing sophisticated systems and subsystems down to the component level
- Literate in MS DOS and reputed company software environments

- Familiar with UHV phenomenon and technology
- Must have ability to acquire a valid reputed company and travel regionally and internationally as required
- Must possess a valid driver's license
