[Remote] Websphere Administrator
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Comtech Global, Inc is seeking a WebSphere & Cloud Infrastructure Administrator with expertise in administering WebSphere Application Server and cloud system administration. The role involves managing multi-tier and multi-platform enterprise environments, providing technical consulting, and ensuring system performance and security.
Responsibilities
- WebSphere & Container services admin
- Provide comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staffs
- Support EKS / AKS
- Administer WebSphere application server
- Administer cloud products
- Administer application security products
- Administer an integration platform
- Provide guidance and consultation with IT management and technical staffs regarding the use of emerging technologies
- Perform upgrades, patches, and fix security issues
- Monitor application performance, system performance, troubleshoot and diagnose issues and implement fixes
- Install, configure and deploy new WebSphere application servers on AIX and Linux
- Write and deploy shell scripts, automate tasks
- Experience with one or more webserver setup Apache, IBM Http Server and IIS
- Troubleshoot, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
- Participate in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies
- Provide consultation services working with System administrator’s internal platform and middleware groups to provide application software development services or technical support
- Work knowledge of cloud platforms Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
- Experience in hosting application services on cloud platforms
- Experience supporting and monitoring workload AKS, EKS
- Deploy and manage application in a cloud environment
- Work with cloud vendors and cloud hosting service providers and recommend infrastructure solutions
- Experience deploying Containers, Microservices, Kubernetes, etc. both in on-prem and cloud
- Communicate with clients, assisting them with their needs to ensure client satisfaction
- Coordinate releases with internal stakeholders
- Champion best practices and quality standards
- Participate in functional and technical meetings throughout the development lifecycle

- 12 years of relevant experience
- 5+ years in supporting EKS / AKS
- 5+ Years in WebSphere administration
- 2+ years in cloud products administration
- 5+ Years with application security product administration
- 5+ Years Experience administering an integration platform
- 5+ Years experience working with government agencies
- 5+ Years of providing comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staffs
- 3+ Years of providing guidance, consultation with IT management and technical staffs regarding the use of emerging technologies
- Strong knowledge of Unix, Linux, Windows operating system and system administration tasks
- Highly available vertical / horizontal scaling, disaster recovery capabilities
- Single Sign On, network load balancer, firewall, IP subnets
- On-Prem monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace
- Cloud monitoring capabilities like Azure Monitor, App Insights, Cloud watch
- CI/CD pipelines: Ansible, Jenkins, Nexis, Avin, Bitbucket etc
- Version control subsystem like: Git, Subversion, etc

- Knowledge of application development, implementation, and deployment experience
- Web services and data integration techniques, messaging and transformation
