Job reference: 000391 Salary: $100,000-$120,000/year based on experience Department: Finance & Accounting Location: EnVue, Autograph Collection (550 Ave at Port Imperial, Weehawken Township, NJ 07086) Division: Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions Hours Per Week: 40 Controller We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, and strategic Controller to oversee the financial operations for our dual-property setup—EnVue Autograph Collection and Residence Inn Weehawken. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance with Marriott and ownership standards. The Controller will lead the accounting team and act as a key business partner to hotel leadership to ensure the financial health and performance of both properties. What You’ll Do: Prepare and manage financial reports, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with US GAAP and Marriott brand standards. Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and oversee budgeting and forecasting for both properties. Provide financial analysis and strategic support to the General Manager and department heads. Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and Marriott policies. Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. Supervise and train the accounting team; partner with operations to drive expense management and labor control. Monitor daily cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure timely reconciliations. Review and approve vendor payments, purchase orders, and payroll in coordination with corporate and hotel staff. About You: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in hospitality or hotel environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership/controller role. Experience with Marriott systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, MARSHA, Birchstreet, CI/TY) strongly preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and accounting software. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and hotel accounting practices (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry). Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-property environment.
