Accountant

Behind every great company is a strong accounting team, and at the heart of ours is you. As our principal Accountant, reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of critical processes like reconciliations, sales tax reporting, and intercompany transactions. You’ll collaborate across teams, support audits, and help keep everything ticking like clockwork. What your day-to-day life at MavTek look like

• Take overall responsibility for working paper files, including bank reconciliations and credit card processing recs. 

• Perform financial analysis to support business decisions. 

• Prepare and issue payments for all payables in a non-cheque environment. 

• Assist with the annual audit process. 

• Ensure internal controls comply with established policies and procedures. 

• Manage intercompany transactions. 

• Oversee sales tax reporting and tax remittances. 

Enough about us, we want to know more about you

• You hold a B.Comm with a major in Accountancy. 

• You bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technology-driven environment. 

• You’re fluent in Oracle NetSuite. 

• You’re an Excel expert who loves working with data. 

• You have a thorough knowledge of accounting principles and best practices. 

• You communicate confidently in both English and French. 

• You have experience working in multi-entity and multi-currency settings. 

• You’re exceptionally organized and able to work independently. 

Language of work for positions permanently located in Quebec 

Knowledge of French is required for positions permanently located in Quebec so candidates can communicate with their colleagues and suppliers in Quebec as necessary. French-language training is offered to all in permanent positions in Quebec who do not have a good knowledge of French. 

Other language requirement 

Another language is required for this position in order to communicate with clients, partners, and colleagues, who are predominantly located outside Quebec. The company has just one client in Quebec but is responsible for the technical support that this client provides to its subscribers, almost all of whom are located outside Quebec. We must therefore constantly use another language to communicate outside Quebec with these subscribers.
