Job Details GENERAL SUMMARY: The Retail Operations Associate acts as a point of contact for our customers. The duties of the Retail Operations Associate include assisting customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, recovering merchandise, cleaning the store, and performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets. DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Deliver exceptional service to customers by warmly welcoming and assisting them. • Perform tasks such as using the cash register and scanner to list and total the customer's purchases, handle payments, provide accurate change, pack items, and offer assistance with products when needed. • Adhere to the guidelines for handling company merchandise; unbox products, oversee stock management, replenish shelves, and create visually appealing product displays. • Tasks involve keeping the store clean by disposing of trash, dusting various surfaces, mopping floors, scrubbing the restroom and receiving area, and contributing to the assembly of sidewalk presentations. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: • Excelling in interpersonal interactions and verbal communication is a valuable asset. • Awareness of safety policies and their application. • Capacity to interpret and adhere to planograms and suggestions for merchandise arrangement. • Grasping the rudimentary principles of cash management. • Basic mathematical skills. • Proficient in utilizing cash register functions accurately. • Competence in handling inventory of items. WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION: • An equivalent to a high school diploma is recommended. WORKING CONDITIONS: • Regularly being on one's feet and moving around. • Performing frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling duties to manage the checkout station, stock inventory, and unload trucks; this may also require the ability to push and/or pull rolltainers during merchandise restocking. • It is common to interact with tools like handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, and merchandise containers, as well as managing equipment such as two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers. • Regular and proper lifting of objects up to 40 pounds; periodic lifting of items up to 55 pounds. • Sporadic elevation to a maximum of six feet utilizing a step ladder. • Quick-paced surroundings with a moderate amount of ambient noise. • Occasional engagement with outside climate variations.
