Payroll Specialist/ Bookkeeper (Part Time)

We are seeking a part-time detail-oriented and experienced Payroll/Bookkeeping Specialist to assist with payroll processing for 100+ employees as well as bookkeeping duties. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive payroll and accounting data with confidentiality. Key Responsibilities: ? Process employee payroll accurately and on schedule, including calculations for hours, overtime, bonuses, deductions, stipends, reimbursements, etc. ? Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records. ? Verify attendance, timesheets, and work records for payroll preparation. ? Handle payroll tax filings, garnishments, and other statutory deductions. ? Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll processes. ? Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. ? Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to manage benefits deductions, employee changes, and reporting. ? Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies or errors on time. ? Prepare and process contributions, withdrawals, loans and other transactions relating to retirement plan, including calculations for safe-harbor and profit-sharing contributions. ? Ensure retirement plan adheres to all relevant regulations and legal requirements. ? Assist with audits related to payroll and retirement plan records and processes. ? Assist Controller with other accounting duties such as bank reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, invoicing correspondence. etc. as needed Qualifications & Requirements: ? Experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role. ? Knowledge of payroll software and systems such as ADP, Paycor, Hybrid or similar platforms. ? Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements. ? Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. ? Strong mathematical and data analysis abilities. ? Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive payroll and financial data. ? Effective communication and interpersonal skills. ? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Schedule: ? Full time schedule during first couple of weeks for training ? 15 ? 18 hours per week after training ? In Office 3 days per week (upon transition to permanent hire) ?
