We are looking for a Data Lead to build and lead our data team from the ground up. This role greatly impacts how we underwrite our customers, helping us make data-driven decisions and optimizing data infrastructure to support critical business decisions. As data lead, you will lay the foundation for a high-performing team, making an immediate impact while setting the stage for future growth.

We are looking for a Data Lead to build and lead our data team from the ground up. This role is critical in shaping how we leverage data to drive smarter underwriting decisions, optimize business operations, and scale our data infrastructure for long-term success.

As the founding member of our data team, you will have a massive impact on our business, from defining data strategy to implementing best practices for data management, analytics, and engineering. You will drive immediate results and lay the foundation for a high-performing team, ensuring we remain at the forefront of data-driven decision-making.

• Design, implement, and maintain a robust data infrastructure using modern tools like DBT, Snowflake, and ETL frameworks.

• Ensure data accuracy, availability, and security across all systems.

• Define and implement key underwriting performance metrics (e.g., default rates and approval times).

• Run experiments to optimize underwriting processes and measure their impact.

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to understand workflows and suggest changes to improve data visibility and usability.

• Communicate complex data insights to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.

• Address data bottlenecks impacting SWE teams.

• Lay the groundwork for a scalable data team, mentoring and guiding new hires as the team grows.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.

We seek a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited to make an immediate and lasting impact. You’ll succeed in this role if you have:

• Held a Data Lead, Senior Data Engineer, or Senior Data Scientist role.

• Previous experience in Startups and Fintechs.

• Hands-on experience with setting up and scaling data infrastructure.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data tools, including DBT, Snowflake, Fivetran, Hightouch, and other ETL/reverse ETL tools

• Have strong data engineering skills, including data pipeline creation and maintenance.
