Key Responsibilities • Review mortgage loan applications and gather necessary documentation for processing. • Ensure accuracy and completeness of loan files according to regulatory requirements and company policies. • Utilize Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS) such as Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP) to assess loan eligibility. • Verify applicant information, including income, credit history, and property details, using industry tools and resources. • Communicate effectively with loan officers, underwriters, and clients to obtain additional information as needed. • Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate timely processing and closing of loans, leveraging processes like ACE (Automated Collateral Evaluation) and PIW (Property Inspection Waiver). • Maintain detailed records and documentation throughout the loan processing cycle, adhering to industry standards and guidelines. Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise • 3+ years of experience in mortgage processing or related field. • 3+ years of experience using a LOS (Encompass preferred) • Must have experience with order outs and calling third parties • Familiar with using office applications • Proficient communication skills • Great personality • Finance and accounting experience is a plus • Knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and guidelines, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac requirements.
