K-12 Health and Physical Education Instructor, Brandywine Virtual Academy

About the position The K-12 Health and Physical Education Instructor at Brandywine Virtual Academy is responsible for teaching health and physical education to students in grades K-8, with potential instruction for high school courses. This role emphasizes creating a supportive and engaging online learning environment, collaborating with parents and professionals, and adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special education requirements. Responsibilities • Instruct individuals and groups in health and physical education. , • Provide specially designed instruction for eligible special education students. , • Plan curriculum and lessons for health and physical education. , • Evaluate and monitor student progress based on performance, test scores, and observation of behavior. , • Support objectives and interventions of the educational program. , • Maintain contact with parents and professionals concerning student progress. , • Develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students when appropriate. , • Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required. Requirements • Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required. , • PA teaching certification in Health and Physical Education required; Special Education Certification preferred. , • Minimum 2 years experience teaching students in an online environment preferred. , • Technology experience preferred. , • Strong written and verbal communication skills. , • Current within one year FBI, PA State and Child Abuse Clearances.
