Job Summary: As an intermediary between customers and the products they desire, the Retail Sales Representative is responsible for aiding customers with the purchasing process. Responsibilities include handling transactions, organizing merchandise, tidying the store, and completing additional duties delegated by the Store Manager in order to increase profitability and retain customer loyalty. Key Responsibilities: • Start your customer service by welcoming and helping out customers with a personal touch. • Use the cash register and scanner to list and sum up the items bought by the customer, take payments, give back change, and pack the products. • Offer aid to shoppers with their selected products when needed. • Adhere to the established procedures for handling company merchandise, which includes unpacking, stocking, rotating, and restocking items on shelves, as well as setting up displays. • Ensure the tidiness of the store by performing tasks such as disposing waste, wiping surfaces, scrubbing floors, and sanitizing the restroom and delivery area. Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills: • Communication abilities that foster mutually respectful relationships are essential. • Comprehension of safety guidelines and procedures is essential to ensuring the wellbeing of company workers. • Skilled in interpreting and implementing planograms and guidelines for merchandising presentations. • Understanding fundamental procedures for dealing with cash is essential. • Basic mathematical skills. • Proficiency in operating cash registers and replenishing store inventory. Work Experience and/or Education: • A high school diploma or an equivalent certification is desirable. Working Conditions: • Walking and standing on a regular basis is a common occurrence for many individuals. • Checkout stations, stocking of merchandise, and unloading of deliveries requires constant bending, stooping, and kneeling. • Regular manipulation of products and machinery, such as hand-held scanners, sticker guns, packaging cutters, product containers, two-wheeled dollies, U-boats (carts with six wheels), and rolltainers. • Regularly and correctly picking up objects weighing up to 40 pounds; lifting items weighing up to 55 pounds sometimes. • Using a step ladder to climb up to a maximum height of six feet is done periodically. • The work atmosphere boasts of a dynamic pace and a measured level of background sounds. • Infrequent exposure to environmental elements.
