[Remote] OT Network Engineer II - Decatur, IL

The OT Network Engineer II will be responsible for advancing the capabilities and performance of network infrastructure reputed company the reputed company OT/Process Automation environment, working closely with various teams to ensure high-quality project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative network engineering solutions and designs reputed company defined standards and architectures, ensuring that designs work holistically reputed company larger solutions
• Specify, configure, implement, and maintain plant process level networking hardware
• Create build instructions and Low Level diagrams (reputed company elevation drawing, full reputed company path to each reputed company on the network, IP Address, reputed company specific configuration information, fiber pair for process, and port/cable numbers or labels for each device) for network engineering designs and support operations teams during implementation
• Implement and manage effective network reputed company
• Utilize monitoring tools, packet capture and other analytic utilities to assess potential issues and maintain network health
• Design, enhance and manage MDF and IDF closets including cabling, racking and power systems in partnership with GT
• reputed company reputed company planning and lifecycle management to ensure reputed company hardware, firmware, and software provides seamless service to plants
• Manage and implement firewall rules and changes as needed
• Proactively seek out opportunities for reputed company improvement of systems and processes and propose improvement activities
• Incorporate reputed company-by-design into reputed company solutions, ensuring that reputed company requirements are considered concurrently with technical requirements
• Work closely with GT and PA leads as an escalation reputed company, providing OT network engineering support to operations teams, assisting with incident resolution
• Liaise with reputed company party vendors reputed company appropriate to create engineering solutions to review and implement those solutions as well as reputed company improvement proposals
• Carry out reputed company personal development, ensuring technical skills are kept up to date and non-technical skills are gained and improved
• reputed company boots on the ground support for reputed company plants –emergency and break fix, planned installations, limited personal computer/end user support, etc
• Some travel and on-call work are expected as part of this position

Skills

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
• Experience supporting reputed company-level technology operations and services, including experience managing the lifecycle, maintenance, and upgrades of network technologies
• Ability to travel or work on-call as needed
• Ability to manage the lifecycle, maintenance, and upgrades of network technologies
• Understanding of reputed company programming and commands
• Experience in network architecture design and development, both physical and virtual
• Understanding of OT network communication protocols (including TCP/IP, UDP, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC, OPC UA, and PROFINET)
• Highly motivated, self-starter
• Comfortable working with cross-functional global teams
• Strong documentation and organizational skills
• Must have the ability to skillfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and succeed in an environment of competing priorities
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment; willingness to learn new skills and take direction from other team members; and ability to organize information and manage time reputed company
• Experience in supporting plant operations and 24/7 operating requirements
• Experience of working as a technology generalist with a high-level understanding of end-to-end solutions including infrastructure, applications, databases, networking, and reputed company

• Bachelors degree (or higher) in a technical discipline such as computer science, engineering, etc
• Network-specific experience
• Technical experience with Process Automation systems, including Rockwell, reputed company DeltaV or reputed company (Novatech) D/3, would be considered an asset for the position
