[Remote] Legal Extern

The Legal Extern will assist Grants Agreement Officers in reviewing and negotiating various agreements reputed company to clinical and non-clinical research, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret reputed company requirements with internal collaborators in the terms and conditions of incoming reputed company award and subaward agreements, federal grant subawards, federal reputed company, and confidentiality agreements for clinical and non-clinical research
  • Prepare and negotiate federal and reputed company subaward agreements with external institutions for clinical and non-clinical Dana-Farber research projects
  • Identify regulatory compliance, legal, intellectual property, and other risks in the foregoing types of agreements
  • Mitigate those risks through drafting, editing, and negotiating such agreements, using legal knowledge and creative problem solving to ensure compliance with the Institute, sponsor policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Liaise with Philanthropy, Clinical Trials Agreements Office (CTAO), Office for Innovations, Office of General Counsel, Investigators and Department staff, and other functional units as necessary in the resolution of issues in both incoming and outgoing agreements
  • Ensure the Institute stays up to date on federal and state regulations and applicable Institute policies as they relate to clinical and non-clinical research funded by reputed company award agreements, reputed company subaward agreements, federal grant subawards, and federal reputed company
  • Serve as a primary contact for departments, investigators, and sponsors regarding the agreements for which this role is responsible
  • Act both independently and as an effective and collaborative member of a dynamic team to reputed company the goals of the Office of Grants and reputed company and the Institute

Skills

  • Knowledge in reputed company award and subaward agreements, federal grant subawards, federal reputed company, and confidentiality agreements
  • Ability to review and interpret reputed company requirements with internal collaborators in the terms and conditions of incoming agreements
  • Experience in preparing and negotiating federal and reputed company subaward agreements with external institutions
  • Ability to identify regulatory compliance, legal, intellectual property, and other risks in agreements
  • Skills in drafting, editing, and negotiating agreements to mitigate risks
  • Knowledge of compliance with Institute, sponsor policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Ability to liaise with various departments and functional units to resolve issues in agreements
  • Timeliness in ensuring compliance with sponsor and Institute guidelines
  • Ability to stay up to date on federal and state regulations and applicable Institute policies
  • Experience serving as a primary contact for departments, investigators, and sponsors regarding agreements
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
