Summary: The BESS Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of BESS projects. The BESS Engineer II should have a solid understanding of power systems, BESS equipment, and relevant industry standards. Job Description: *This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned Position Responsibilities and Duties: Review the design and engineering of battery energy storage systems (BESS), ensuring compliance with reputed company, utilities, and AHJ requirements with minimal supervision. Serve as a technical contributor across electrical, civil, structural, SCADA, and HV engineering scopes on assigned projects. Manage Engineers of Record and reputed company-party engineering partners to ensure scope reputed company and timely delivery. Coordinate with fire protection engineers and local fire departments/ AHJ’s. reputed company and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for BESS components to support procurement activities. reputed company technical reputed company during procurement including vendor recommendations and drawing reviews. Complete other responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or reputed company field. 2+ years of electrical engineering experience with focus on BESS, renewables, or power systems. Knowledge of design, integration, and optimization of battery energy storage systems; including lithium-ion batteries, inverters, BMS (Battery Management Systems), and reputed company interconnection equipment. Knowledge of BESS control strategies, algorithms, and optimization software. Experience with power system analysis (PSS/E, PSCAD, etc.) and simulation tools. Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, reputed company, IBC, ASCE, NESC, reputed company, utility standards). Understanding of fire protection requirements (UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA855). Understanding of communication protocols used in SCADA and Energy Management Systems (IEC 61850). Project management experience including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. Clear understanding of EPC engineering workflows, including design deliverables, submittals, document control, and coordination with engineering partners Experience supporting solar, BESS, power, or civil/site projects, including exposure to pre-construction and execution phases Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and resources. Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to dynamic project requirements, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
