Position Summary The Assessment Launch Senior Lead serves as the central coordinator for assessment administration activities across OpenEd's programs. This role is responsible for maintaining a centralized assessment schedule, tracking deliverables, monitoring timelines, and ensuring all operational components required for successful assessment administrations are completed on time and in compliance with applicable requirements. Supporting both virtual and in-person testing events, the Senior Lead coordinates across the Assessment Operations Senior Lead, the Assessment Leads, the Proctor Operations Lead, and other cross-functional partners to ensure assessment activities progress according to plan. The role maintains visibility across multiple concurrent testing administrations, monitoring dependencies, resource demands, and operational readiness to identify risks, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints. Through proactive coordination, tracking, and reporting, the Senior Lead helps ensure assessment programs are executed successfully, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and program requirements. Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a centralized assessment calendar and schedule for all testing programs and administrations. Build and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and critical deadlines for assessment events. Track assessment readiness across multiple concurrent administrations and provide visibility into status, risks, and upcoming deliverables. Coordinate activities across Assessment Leads, Proctor Operations, Student Services, Academic Operations, Product, Technology, and other stakeholders. Monitor completion of tasks related to testing setup, rostering, communications, scheduling, score reporting, and results posting. Facilitate planning meetings, assessment launch kick-off calls, readiness reviews, status updates, and post-administration retrospectives. Identify timeline risks, operational gaps, and potential compliance concerns; escalate issues and coordinate resolution efforts. Maintain assessment launch documentation, trackers, templates, and operational procedures. Produce reports and dashboards that communicate assessment readiness, project status, and key milestones. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline assessment planning and execution processes. Support in-person testing operations as needed, which may include some travel (including overnights) during peak testing season. Assessment Portfolio & Capacity Management Maintain visibility across all active and upcoming assessment administrations, ensuring competing priorities and dependencies are effectively managed. Monitor organizational readiness and capacity to support multiple concurrent assessment events and overlapping testing windows. Identify operational bottlenecks, resource constraints, and workload imbalances that may impact assessment delivery timelines. Analyze assessment workflows and staffing demands to recommend workload redistribution, sequencing adjustments, or process improvements. Provide leadership with actionable insights regarding assessment portfolio health, risks, capacity concerns, and upcoming operational demands. Facilitate cross-functional planning to ensure adequate resources are available to support peak testing periods. Success Indicators Multiple concurrent assessment administrations are delivered successfully without operational conflicts or missed deadlines. Potential bottlenecks and capacity constraints are identified and addressed before impacting testing operations. Assessment teams maintain balanced workloads during peak testing periods. Leadership has clear visibility into assessment readiness, resource needs, and operational risks. Assessment launches consistently meet deadlines, compliance requirements, and quality standards.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Operations, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of experience at a leadership level coordinating complex programs, projects, or operational initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables. Demonstrated ability to manage project plans, monitor progress, mitigate risks, and drive cross-functional accountability. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify dependencies, bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and operational risks. Experience developing and maintaining dashboards, trackers, reports, and operational documentation. Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets, Google Workspace, and project management tools. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate across teams and stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining compliance and quality standards. Ability to travel periodically, including occasional overnight travel during peak testing seasons.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting K-12 assessment programs, testing operations, or other regulated operational environments. Familiarity with assessment platforms, student information systems, scheduling tools, and student data management processes. Knowledge of state assessment administration requirements, testing security protocols, and accountability systems.
