System Administrator
Position: System Administrator Location: Remote (Pakistan) Job Type: Full-time Work Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM US Pacific Standard Time, Monday–Friday (Overnight shift for Pakistan-based candidates) Salary: 250,000 PKR / month Role Overview We are seeking a proactive and experienced System Administrator to join our global team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance across multiple business units. You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to support mission-critical systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and continuously improve our infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, automating repetitive tasks, and maintaining highly available systems in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and maintain Linux-based servers and infrastructure Configure, deploy, and manage software, services, and system updates Monitor system health, performance, uptime, and security Troubleshoot infrastructure, network, and application issues Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and security procedures Configure and maintain firewalls, networking equipment, and related services Document troubleshooting procedures, infrastructure changes, and operational processes Support internal teams with technical issues and infrastructure requests Automate operational tasks through scripting and system tooling Assist in evaluating and implementing new technologies and infrastructure improvements Maintain internal technical documentation, policies, and knowledge bases Requirements 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role Strong experience administering Linux servers (CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar distributions) Experience managing networking concepts including LAN, WAN, DNS, VPNs, and firewalls Knowledge of system security, access controls, intrusion prevention, and backup strategies Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and application-level issues Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern infrastructure practices Experience writing automation scripts in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of operational systems

Experience with virtualization technologies and container platforms Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools Experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Experience supporting distributed remote teams Familiarity with AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar productivity tools On-Call Expectations As we operate infrastructure-based businesses that require high availability, this role will participate in on-call support and be available to respond to critical infrastructure incidents outside core business hours when necessary.
