[Remote] Dynamics 365 Finance Product Owner
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dynamics Door is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance Product Owner to lead the evolution of their enterprise finance platform. This role involves partnering with finance leadership and stakeholders to prioritize enhancements and maximize the value of the D365 platform while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a strategic roadmap for the Dynamics 365 Finance platform
- Evaluate competing business priorities and translate them into a structured product backlog
- Support enterprise modernization efforts, including ERP transformation programs and migration from legacy applications
- Drive platform decisions that improve scalability, governance, and long-term business value
- Analyze end-to-end financial and operational workflows to identify process improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define future-state business requirements and corresponding D365 solutions
- Ensure system capabilities effectively support key business functions, including: Financial Close and Reporting, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Asset Lifecycle Management
- Recommend configuration changes and process enhancements that improve efficiency, visibility, and control
- Convert business objectives into actionable requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Partner with implementation teams, developers, and solution architects to deliver enhancements and new functionality
- Participate in Agile planning activities and help prioritize development efforts based on business impact
- Validate delivered solutions and ensure they meet defined business outcomes
- Serve as a trusted advisor to finance leaders and cross-functional business partners
- Facilitate communication between accounting, treasury, FP&A, audit, operations, and technical teams
- Coordinate with external consultants and implementation partners during project execution
- Build alignment among stakeholders regarding priorities, scope, and solution direction
- Support users through system changes, upgrades, and new feature releases
- Promote user adoption through training, documentation, and process guidance
- Monitor system effectiveness and identify opportunities for ongoing optimization
- Champion best practices for ERP governance and operational excellence
- Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Maintain awareness of emerging D365 capabilities and industry trends
- Support compliance, risk management, and internal policy requirements
- Contribute to special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
Skills
- 8+ years of experience across finance operations, ERP programs, business analysis, or enterprise systems delivery
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience implementing or supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
- Proven ability to influence senior finance stakeholders and guide system strategy decisions
- Experience leading requirements gathering, solution design, and backlog prioritization activities
- Strong expertise within D365 Finance modules, including: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash and Bank Management, Financial Reporting
- Understanding of financial governance, audit readiness, and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with approval workflows, segregation-of-duty principles, and ERP control frameworks
- Experience operating within Agile delivery environments
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution and issue resolution
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language
- Strong relationship-building skills with both executive and operational stakeholders
- Working knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing, or related operational processes
