[Remote] Central Operations Resilience & Engineering Team Manager

CyrusOne is a leading provider of data center services, and they are seeking a Central Operations Resilience Engineering Team Manager to lead a central team responsible for reducing operational risk and improving the reliability of live operations. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary group of engineers and program leads, driving engineering execution across incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Central Operations Resilience and Engineering team, including engineers and program/governance leads
- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing, multidisciplinary team
- Set clear expectations, assign accountability, and manage performance
- Serve as the primary escalation point for operational and technical issues that impact live operations
- Apply disciplined engineering practices to incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action development
- Ensure repeat events and systemic gaps are identified and eliminated
- Drive consistent problem-solving standards and decision quality across the team
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational processes, tools, and outcomes
- Use data, trends, and lessons learned from events to prioritize improvements with the highest risk reduction value
- Standardize approaches and improve consistency across sites and regions
- Own and manage a defined portfolio of operational engineering initiatives that support live operations
- Plan, prioritize, and execute work with clear scope, milestones, and deliverables
- Track progress and outcomes ensuring commitments are met
- Partner closely with Site Operations, Design & Construction, Commissioning, Reliability Engineering, and regional teams
- Translate strategic direction into executable plans and measurable results
- Break down cross-functional barriers and ensure alignment across stakeholders
Skills
- B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or other related technical field) or equivalent industry experience
- 10+ years of experience in mission critical industry with at least 4 years as a manager of a technical team supporting live, mission-critical operations
- Strong background in incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action management
- Proven ability to manage complex work portfolios with clear accountability and results
- Strong collaboration skills across technical and operational teams
- Experience in data center operations, critical facilities, or other high-reliability environments
- Experience managing both technical contributors and program/governance-focused roles
- Demonstrated success driving operational risk reduction and reliability improvements at scale
