[Remote] Business Analyst I
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Public Health Institute (PHI) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting health and well-being. The Business Analyst I supports customer implementations, data conversions, and related projects for C/NET Solutions, managing assigned projects and providing technical support to customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer onboarding, implementation, and related project activities for CNExT, CAS, and associated solutions
- Coordinate customer data conversions, software setup, installations, and transition activities
- Review customer results, identify issues, and support resolution of implementation and system concerns
- Support customers with CAS updates, configuration changes, and related enhancement work
- Provide training, guidance, and technical support throughout implementation and post-go-live support
- Collaborate with customer technical staff to ensure successful deployment and ongoing use of CNExT and CAS solutions
- Create and maintain technical and training documentation for conversions, CAS, software installation, and updates
- Contribute ideas and write articles for the e/notes newsletter as assigned
- Manage and execute customer database migrations from Microsoft Access to SQL Server, including testing and installation support
- Manage and execute database merges from single-hospital to multi-hospital environments, including testing and installation support
- Manage medical record number conversion projects
- Provide query specifications to Programming, test results, and support implementation as needed
- Manage shared follow-up file projects with state and central registries, including format testing and staff training
- Provide frontline support and initial training for project-related work
- Manage other customer-requested projects as assigned
- Support CNExT and CAS software
- Provide CNExT and CAS training
- Assist technical support staff with complex issues as level 2 support
- Participate in routine testing of CNExT and CAS products
- Document and report testing results to management and programming staff
- Review metafiles provided by standards-setting organizations and incorporate applicable updates into the software
- Document and communicate required software changes from standards-setting organizations to the Programming department
- Update and convert PDFs and standards resource materials into standardized CHM help files for incorporation into CNExT software, as needed
- Access to Protected Health Information. This role requires access to Protected Health Information and compliance with all C/NET Solutions and Public Health Institute confidentiality and HIPAA policies
- Maintain an active Oncology Data Specialist–Certified (ODS-C) credential
- Occasionally work more than 40 hours per week, including weekends
- Work outside C/NET Solutions business hours as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Maintain an active Oncology Data Specialist–Certified (ODS-C) credential
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, or a related field; or substitute with four years of related experience; or relevant technical certification with 2 years of relevant experience
- Understanding of CNExT functions, including data entry, reporting, and import/export procedures
- Experience using helpdesk and ticketing system
- Ability to analyze complex cancer registry data during conversion reviews and recommend corrections
- Knowledge of cancer registry standards and practices, including ACoS, NAACCR, SEER, state registry requirements, and international reporting requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead projects to completion
- Strong SQL Server administration and SQL programming skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Project, text editors, compression or encryption software, and helpdesk software
- Strong organizational, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of internet applications such as VPN and Remote Desktop Connection
- Ability to work under pressure and train peers
- Creative and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
