[Remote] Clinical Innovation Lead

The Clinical Innovation Lead will serve as the clinical voice within R&D, leveraging orthodontic expertise to shape product strategy and drive innovations in treatment workflows and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands‑on orthodontic expertise to inform product requirements, clinical claims, and validation strategies across the portfolio
- Translate real‑world treatment challenges into clear clinical requirements, design inputs, and success metrics for Clinical Engineering and R&D teams
- Support the development and defense of clinically relevant product claims through research, evidence generation, and clinical rationale
- Drive innovation in treatment protocols, attachment strategies, staging logic, and workflow design, with a focus on predictability, efficiency, and scalability
- Contribute to the evolution of digital portals and end‑to‑end clinical workflows, ensuring they align with how orthodontists diagnose, plan, and treat patients in practice
- Partner closely with engineering and digital teams to ideate, prototype, and evaluate next‑generation clinical solutions
- Lead and support clinical benchmarking against competitors, including comparative evaluation of treatment approaches, attachments, protocols, and digital experiences
- Identify clinical strengths, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen portfolio differentiation and inform roadmap priorities
- Provide thought leadership on emerging clinical trends, techniques, and technologies shaping orthodontic care
- Collaborate deeply with Clinical Engineering, R&D, Digital, Marketing, and Commercial teams to ensure strong clinical alignment across development and launch activities
- Act as a trusted clinical partner in cross‑functional forums, balancing clinical efficacy with scalability, efficiency, and business objectives
- Support internal education and alignment by clearly communicating clinical rationale, tradeoffs, and implications to non‑clinical stakeholders
Skills
- DDS/DMD or equivalent with completion of an accredited orthodontic residency (or equivalent); licensed or license‑eligible orthodontist
- Significant hands‑on clinical orthodontic experience, preferably with aligner therapy and digital workflows
- Demonstrated ability to connect clinical practice with product development, research, or innovation initiatives
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate clinical insights to technical and non‑clinical audiences
- Experience collaborating with engineering, digital product, or R&D teams in industry or applied research settings
- Familiarity with treatment planning software, digital portals, and data‑driven orthodontic workflows
- Experience supporting or evaluating clinical claims, evidence generation, or comparative benchmarking
- Comfort working in ambiguity and shaping new ways of working within a growing Clinical Engineering function
