Remote Senior Animator, 3D Character Design
Our client, an innovative and award-winning digital media studio, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior 3D Character Animator to join their fully remote creative team. This position is ideal for an artist with a strong portfolio showcasing a deep understanding of character performance, movement, and storytelling through animation. You will be responsible for bringing digital characters to life, ensuring they are believable, expressive, and align with the project's artistic vision and technical requirements. This role demands exceptional skill in 3D animation software, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed team to deliver high-quality animated content for various entertainment platforms. Key responsibilities include: Animating complex 3D characters for feature films, games, or other digital media projects, ensuring high-quality performance and execution. Interpreting and translating director’s notes and feedback into compelling character performances. Collaborating closely with character modelers, riggers, and art directors to achieve desired character aesthetics and functionality. Establishing and maintaining animation quality standards and workflows. Troubleshooting and resolving animation-related technical issues. Contributing creative ideas and solutions to enhance character animation and overall project quality. Mentoring junior animators and providing constructive feedback. Staying current with industry trends, software advancements, and new animation techniques. Working efficiently within established project timelines and deliverables. Ensuring character animations meet the technical specifications for game engines or rendering pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in 3D character animation, with a strong reel demonstrating expertise in body mechanics, facial animation, and emotional expression, is required. Proficiency in industry-standard animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max is essential. Experience with motion capture cleanup and integration is a plus. Excellent understanding of anatomy, timing, and cinematic principles is crucial. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide and receive constructive criticism within a remote team environment, are paramount.
