Remote Data Entry Engineer – Entry‑Level Manufacturing & Product Lifecycle Specialist at arenaflex
About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Data‑Driven Hardware
arenaflex is a global leader in designing, building, and operating some of the most sophisticated data‑center infrastructures in the world. Our mission is to turn ambitious ideas into reliable, high‑performance platforms that power the digital experiences millions of users rely on every day. From cutting‑edge server farms to innovative hardware solutions, arenaflex’s engineering teams drive the relentless pursuit of efficiency, scalability, and sustainability. As a remote‑first organization, we empower talent from every corner of the United States to collaborate, innovate, and shape the next generation of technology—all from the comfort of their own workspace.
Why This Role Matters
In the fast‑moving world of data‑center hardware, the ability to translate product designs into repeatable, high‑quality manufacturing processes is a competitive advantage. As a Remote Data Entry Engineer on our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will be at the heart of this transformation. You will work closely with product managers, design architects, and supply‑chain partners to ensure that every component—whether a server board, power module, or cooling system—meets arenaflex’s exacting standards for cost, reliability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Create, refine, and manage flexible manufacturing workflows for high‑volume data‑center equipment, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and scalability.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with Product Management, Design, and Operations teams to identify potential manufacturing challenges early in the product development cycle and propose proactive solutions.
- Interpret Complex Engineering Data: Analyze detailed design specifications, bill‑of‑materials (BOM) data, and technical drawings to develop manufacturing‑ready processes and tooling requirements.
- Lead Supplier Evaluation and Qualification: Assess, qualify, and continuously improve supplier capabilities, ensuring alignment with future capacity needs and strategic growth plans.
- Manage Product Lifecycle Data: Utilize Product Data Management (PDM) systems to maintain accurate BOMs, Approved Vendor Lists (AVL), and oversee Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Requests (ECR).
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and 8D methodologies to streamline production, reduce waste, and accelerate time‑to‑market for new hardware releases.
- Support Remote Operations: Coordinate with geographically dispersed teams and remote manufacturing sites, traveling up to 30% of the time when on‑site presence is required.
Essential Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Four years of hands‑on experience in electrical design, mechanical design, or a comparable discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least ten years of experience in roles focused on assembly, quality assurance, reliability, or product design.
- Six years of experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and processes.
- Five years of experience planning and executing high‑voltage infrastructure projects within data‑center environments.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Capabilities)
- Graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven track record of leading yield improvements and cycle‑time reductions for high‑volume, high‑complexity hardware components.
- Hands‑on experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, 8D problem‑solving, and other continuous‑improvement frameworks.
- Background in commissioning and scaling server farms, including power distribution and cooling system integration.
- Demonstrated ability to influence electrical design and assembly processes to achieve cost and performance targets.
Core Skills & Competencies
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of hardware design, electrical schematics, mechanical assembly, and data‑center infrastructure.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex engineering data and translate it into actionable manufacturing strategies.
- Project Leadership: Experience leading multidisciplinary projects from concept through production launch.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Proven teamwork skills, comfortable working in a remote, matrixed environment with cross‑functional partners.
- Adaptability: Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to support on‑site activities, supplier audits, and hardware rollouts.
- Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with PLM, PDM, ERP, and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Altium Designer) is highly desirable.
