[Remote] Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - HVAC and Plumbing Design
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. J&T Business Consulting is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in HVAC and Plumbing Design. The role involves providing mentorship, managing project work plans, and ensuring quality in mechanical/plumbing design while coordinating with other disciplines and clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Mechanical engineers and designers
- Develop and manage project work plans
- Responsible for the systems selections, basis of design and quality of the work product
- Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with project team members
- Represent the Mechanical discipline at client meetings and effectively communicate with clients as needed
- Coordination of the mechanical/plumbing design with other project disciplines and the Project Manager
- Construction phase support including submittal review and RFI response
- Maintain and develop mechanical/plumbing standards in collaboration with senior engineering staff
- Assist the Mechanical Director with mechanical/plumbing work product quality control
- Act as a senior mechanical engineering and design resource, providing assistance and guidance to project engineers and designers in both HVAC and plumbing design
- Confer openly and directly in a respectful and professional manner with other personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop design
Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of focused mechanical/plumbing design experience
- Mechanical Engineering Professional license
- Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Trane Trace load calculation software
- Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public
