[Remote] Development Operations Manager

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Alliance for American Leadership is a bipartisan coalition focused on revitalizing U.S. global leadership through international development. The Development Operations Manager is responsible for managing the operational aspects of the Alliance's fundraising function, including donor database management, pipeline tracking, compliance, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own the Alliance's donor database — data quality, segmentation, custom fields, and integrations with other systems
• Ensure that every donor interaction (gift, meeting, communication, event attendance) is recorded consistently
• Generate reports on pipeline health, donor retention, segment performance, and campaign outcomes
• Maintain the donor pipeline tracker, ensuring that every prospect has a current stage, owner, and next action
• Surface pipeline-stage transitions and pipeline gaps to the Fundraising Director
• Run weekly or bi-weekly pipeline check-ins to keep the fundraising team aligned on prospect status
• Maintain documentation needed for FEC compliance — donor identification, contribution limits, prohibited contributions screening, and required reporting
• Coordinate with the 501(c)(4) Treasurer and external accountants on financial reporting integration
• Track compliance deadlines and ensure required filings are completed on time
• Identify operational gaps in the fundraising function and propose improvements
• Build templates, workflows, and documentation that reduce the operational load on the rest of the fundraising team
• Train fundraising team members on systems and processes to ensure consistent use

Skills

• Strong operational and systems-thinking instincts
• Detail-oriented with reliable follow-through on operational tasks
• Comfortable with the unsexy backbone work that makes the rest of the team effective
• Commitment to A4AL's bipartisan mission and values
• Experience with donor CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, NGP VAN, EveryAction, Bloomerang) or comparable database tools
• Familiarity with FEC compliance requirements for federal PACs preferred but not required — the role can grow into this
