[Remote] Principal Treasury Consultant (Remote)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. First Citizens Bank is a financial institution seeking a Principal Treasury Consultant to lead the management of interest rate risk. The role involves developing frameworks, monitoring metrics, and ensuring regulatory compliance while collaborating with various teams to manage banking book risks.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the IRRBB framework, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations
- Focus on QRM Production, Ongoing Monitoring, and Development tasks to drive analytical validation of IRRBB model. Work with strategic modeling team on model development and impact testing
- Produce and Monitor Net Interest Income (NII) and Economic Value of Equity (EVE) metrics
- Strengthen 1st line controls, documentation, and reporting to meet internal and external audit requirements
- Contribute to a technical team, partnering with Treasury, 2nd Line Risk, and Business Lines to manage risks associated with banking book activities
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Treasury, Interest Rate Risk modeling OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Treasury, Interest Rate Risk modeling
- 10+ years in IRRBB, Treasury, or ALM functions, with a proven track record in risk modeling
- Proficiency in QRM, SQL, and Python
- Bachelor's or Master's in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field; CFA or FRM designations are highly preferred
- Ability to challenge and validate assumptions constructively
- Excellent executive-level communication skills
- Ability to map business strategy to interest rate risk exposures
