The Opportunity

We're excited to offer a unique remote position for a Financial Services Customer Service Representative within our Payment and Digital Operations team at arenaflex. Your Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Services Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our payment processing systems and ensuring exceptional customer service. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Payment Processing & Reconciliation: Complete daily transaction access and balancing functions to ensure all financial records are accurate and reconciled
  • Return Coordination: Coordinate with customers, gate merchants, the Federal Reserve, and other institutions for efficient return processing
  • Support Operations: Assist various departments with fraud resolution, member requests, and related General Ledger account adjustments
  • Case Management: Work on member cases/sports assignments, ensuring proper documentation and resolution
  • Compliance Assurance: Monitor and maintain strict adherence to NACHA guidelines and federal banking regulations
  • Bill Processing: Process mortgage bills, multi-record and member deposits, credit card bills, and various other transactions including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff requests
  • Transaction Approval: Review, analyze, and approve Remote Deposit Capture, Mobile, ATM, and other image-enabled products
  • Account Management: Log, research, and make necessary General Ledger, account changes, or returns
  • Special Transactions: Process Stop Payments and Check Batching according to established procedures
  • Closing Procedures: Complete daily reconciliation and office closing processes
  • Wire Transfers: Obtain information from customers for the coordinated and accurate handling of domestic and international wire transfer requests
  • Research & Verification: Research and verify incoming and outgoing wire transfer information
  • Communication: Communicate with merchants to facilitate wire transfers
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understand and comply with incoming and outgoing wire transfer regulations
  • Banking Operations: Process deposit research returns, research member debit items on draft changes, process member items, verify members for outgoing wire transfers, and perform Federal Reserve verification and release of wire transfers
  • Specialized Processing: Complete regular processing of workflows related to returned items, supply of receipts, overseas collections, and legal charges
  • Data Security: Ensure the security and confidentiality of all records and related data as part of your job responsibilities
  • Compliance: Ensure all work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in all tasks
  • Problem-Solving: Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Technology: Reliable high-speed internet connection and quiet workspace

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer Service Experience: Previous customer/member interaction experience
  • Financial Services Background: Prior banking or credit union experience
  • Technical Systems: Familiarity with Episys/Symitar systems and wire processing
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements
  • Remote Work Experience: Previous experience working in a remote environment
