Role Overview

We are seeking motivated, detail‑oriented individuals to join our Remote Data Entry & Maintenance team as Upkeep Specialists. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the operational readiness of a wide range of manufacturing equipment, from mechanical assemblies to complex electrical systems. The position is designed for college students who need flexible scheduling, offering both part‑time and full‑time remote options. You will work closely with engineering, product design, and operations teams to maintain high standards of equipment reliability, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on all modern production and mechatronics hardware, following detailed work orders and safety protocols.
  • Execute corrective repairs on production line equipment, addressing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues promptly.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex systems, including 24 VDC to 480 VAC three‑phase electrical circuits, PLC networks, and advanced robotics.
  • Read and interpret detailed mechanical assembly drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately assess faults.
  • Document maintenance activities, update shift handovers, and log repair strategies in arenaflex’s proprietary maintenance management system.
  • Coordinate parts requests, manage inventory, and retrieve supplies from storerooms or approved vendors to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to suggest design improvements that reduce future maintenance effort and increase equipment uptime.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, including the use of fall‑protection harnesses, proper lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment (PPE) when working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Support remote monitoring initiatives by entering data accurately into arenaflex’s analytics platforms, enabling real‑time performance tracking.
  • Participate in continuous‑learning sessions, sharing insights and best practices with peers and senior technicians.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in a maintenance environment working with manufacturing hardware, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field (currently enrolled students are welcome).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of electrical systems, including safe handling of AC/DC voltages and the use of multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with pneumatic solenoid valves, actuators, and control circuits, as well as basic hydraulic system maintenance.
  • High‑level computer proficiency, with the ability to navigate specialized maintenance software and enter data accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear documentation of repair procedures and effective collaboration with remote teams.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand, walk, crouch, and work in confined spaces for extended periods; willingness to use fall‑protection equipment when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or equivalent.
  • Experience with PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Previous remote work experience, demonstrating self‑discipline and effective time management.
  • Exposure to robotics or automated guided vehicle (AGV) systems.

Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to diagnose root causes quickly and develop effective repair strategies.
  • Attention to Detail: Precise data entry and meticulous documentation to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills for working with engineers, product designers, and remote support staff.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with shifting priorities, emergency repairs, and evolving technology landscapes.
