Public Service Board of Advisors
Role Description This is a remote, contract role for a member of the Public Service Board of Advisors at Professionals Network. Advisory board members provide strategic guidance on how the platform can better serve public service professionals, nonprofits, government entities, and social impact organizations. Day-to-day responsibilities include participating in virtual advisory meetings, reviewing program proposals, and offering feedback on new initiatives, partnerships, and community-building strategies. Advisors may be asked to contribute thought leadership, such as sharing best practices, participating in webinars, or reviewing content related to public service. The role also involves helping identify relevant networks, stakeholders, and opportunities that align with the platform’s mission.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in public service, nonprofit leadership, government, or social impact work, with a strong understanding of the needs and challenges in these sectors.
- Strategic thinking and advisory experience, with the ability to evaluate programs, offer constructive feedback, and help shape long-term direction.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including comfort contributing in virtual meetings and working with diverse, cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience building or participating in professional networks, communities of practice, or advisory boards.
- Ability to commit time consistently for meetings, reviews, and occasional contributions such as mentorship, introductions, or thought leadership.
- Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and a readiness to work in a fully virtual environment.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to creating accessible, respectful spaces for all professionals.
