This full‑time, remote‑first role offers a competitive rate of $30 per hour and the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States while staying closely connected to our California headquarters. As a key contributor, you will design, develop, and maintain large‑scale data pipelines, distributed services, and cloud‑native applications that power arenaflex’s most critical products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code while adhering to arenaflex’s coding standards and best practices.
  • Participate in, and occasionally lead, design and architecture review sessions with cross‑functional peers, product managers, and senior engineers to evaluate trade‑offs and drive technical decisions.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback on style, correctness, testability, performance, and security.
  • Develop automated testing frameworks, unit tests, integration tests, and performance benchmarks to ensure reliability at scale.
  • Collaborate with operations and site reliability teams to troubleshoot production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement long‑term fixes.
  • Maintain and evolve technical documentation, design diagrams, and knowledge‑base articles to support onboarding and ongoing learning.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers, share expertise, and foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, proactively recommending innovations that can enhance arenaflex’s platform.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing software in C++ with a strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.
  • At least 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, including 1 year focused on software design and architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience building large‑scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, and familiarity with compute platforms, hardware, or cloud environments.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git), build tools, and modern development workflows.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of diagnosing complex technical issues and delivering robust solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration across geographically dispersed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in a technical leadership role (minimum 1 year), guiding project teams and influencing architectural direction.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (arenaflex Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with distributed storage systems, networking protocols, and security frameworks.
  • Background in machine learning pipelines, data analytics, or artificial intelligence is a plus.
  • Contributions to open‑source projects or participation in technical communities.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Expertise: Mastery of C++ (including modern standards), multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization.
