Job DetailsSalary Range: $160,000.00 - $180,000.00 Salary/yearSimpson Door Company is seeking a high-impact National Sales Manager to lead and develop our national field sales organization. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, this role is responsible for driving profitable sales growth, expanding gross margins, and strengthening our market position across North America. This leader will directly manage Regional Sales Managers across nine territories while maintaining personal ownership of key national accounts. The role is focused on elevating field execution, strengthening channel partnerships, and delivering consistent, profitable growth across Simpson’s full portfolio of products. Simpson Door Company is a family-owned organization with a collaborative, low-layered structure, enabling faster decision-making and greater impact. This role is designed for a leader who wants to spend their time in the field, with customers and teams—not tied up in excessive internal meetings or bureaucracy. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct access to executive leadership and the ability to influence strategy and results across the entire business. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise and established relationships within the door and millwork distribution channel, combined with a proven ability to lead high-performing sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Management Lead, coach, and develop Regional Sales Managers across nine geographic territories Drive accountability for sales performance, margin improvement, and market share growth Establish clear expectations, performance metrics, and reporting cadence across the field organization Foster a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture National Account Ownership Directly manage and grow relationships with Simpson’s most strategic national distribution and channel partners Serve as executive point of contact for key accounts, strengthening long-term partnerships Align national account strategies with regional execution to drive growth and consistency Gross Margin & Growth Focus Drive profitable growth across all product categories through price discipline, mix improvement, and strategic selling Partner with internal pricing and finance teams to ensure alignment on margin objectives Lead field execution of pricing strategy and value-based selling Identify and act on market opportunities to improve profitability and competitive positioning Channel Strategy & Market Development Strengthen Simpson’s position within distribution, dealer, door shop, and professional channels Expand relationships with existing partners while identifying new growth opportunities Ensure consistent execution of corporate strategy across all territories Monitor competitive trends and market dynamics to inform strategic direction Field Execution & Sales Process Discipline Drive consistent use of CRM, forecasting, and pipeline management tools Enhance communication and coordination between field sales and internal teams Improve quote-to-order conversion and overall customer experience Scope & Organizational Alignment Reports directly to the EVP of Sales & Marketing Directly manages Regional Sales Managers across nine territories Owns strategic national account relationships Focused exclusively on outside sales leadership (no direct responsibility for inside sales, marketing, or product development) Qualifications & Experience Required 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in building products or related industries Proven experience managing geographically dispersed sales teams Deep relationships within the North American door, millwork, or building products distribution channel Demonstrated ability to drive both revenue growth and gross margin improvement Strong understanding of distribution, dealer networks, and channel dynamics Experience leading sales strategy, processes, and performance management Preferred Direct experience in door, millwork, or adjacent product categories Experience managing both regional sales teams and national accounts Background in driving organizational alignment and sales execution consistency across regions Key Competencies Strong leadership presence and ability to coach and develop talent Strategic thinker with disciplined execution Financial and business acumen with focus on margin performance Relationship-driven with strong industry credibility Data-driven and process-oriented Excellent communicator and cross-functional collaborator Success Measures Improvement in gross margin performance across product categories Consistent execution and performance across all nine sales territories Growth and retention of key national accounts Increased market share within core channels Strong adoption of sales processes, CRM, and forecasting discipline Location & Travel Remote-based role with significant travel (approximately 50%) across the U.S. Compensation $160K-$180K base salary plus bonus
