Key Responsibilities

Manage, optimize, and maintain AWS infrastructure in production environments, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and high availability for enterprise systems. Design and support networking architectures including VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPNs, hybrid connectivity, DNS routing, failover strategies, and secure cloud communications. Administer identity and access management processes, including IAM, SSO, role-based access, federation, and least-privilege security models for HIPAA/PHI-sensitive environments. Monitor infrastructure health, support incident response and on-call operations, implement observability best practices, and contribute to Infrastructure as Code and operational automation initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical infrastructure engineering experience. 7+ years of hands-on AWS administration experience in production environments with ownership of technical decisions and operational outcomes. Strong expertise in AWS networking, including VPC, Transit Gateway, VPNs, hybrid connectivity, Route 53, DNS routing, health checks, and failover strategies. Experience managing HIPAA/PHI-sensitive workloads and secure healthcare or regulated cloud environments. Strong hands-on experience administering Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS, including scaling, backups, failover, outage recovery, and performance optimization. Expert-level knowledge of IAM, identity federation, SSO, RBAC, least-privilege access, and cloud security best practices. Strong Linux administration experience and deep networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, IPsec, and secure connectivity models. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar automation frameworks. Strong monitoring and observability experience using CloudWatch, logging, alerting, and incident troubleshooting workflows. Experience with on-call operations, incident response, operational troubleshooting, and daily use of AI tools (e.g., Claude or similar) for operational workflows and productivity. Preferred Skills: Strong English communication skills for global collaboration. Experience supporting healthcare, EHR/EMR, or PHI-regulated environments. Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HITRUST, SOC2, ONC, or security audits. Experience with AWS Direct Connect, multi-account AWS organizations (Control Tower, SCPs), VPN tools (Tailscale, NordLayer), disaster recovery planning, and scripting using Python, Bash, or TypeScript.
