Management Accountant
The Management Accountant is a hands-on, commercially focused finance role where you will own the core management accounting function for a fast-growing digital transformation consultancy. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting business planning, and ensuring the financial controls and processes that underpin Silver Cloud’s operations are robust and scalable. Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide the financial insight and analysis needed to support confident decision-making as the business continues to grow. This role goes beyond numbers. You will bring audit-trained rigour, a proactive mindset, and the ability to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, contributing directly to the financial health and commercial performance of the business.Location: UK (Remote with client travel) Type: Permanent Reporting to: Chief Finance Officer Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Audit experience is strongly preferred - candidates with an audit background bring a broad technical foundation and a strong understanding of controls and compliance that translates well into this role. Experience preparing management accounts and month-end reporting in a commercially focused environment is highly preferred. Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and accounting standards. Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and present findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel - comfortable with complex models, pivot tables, and financial analysis. Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar). Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and completeness. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to deadline in a fast-paced environment. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link financial performance to business drivers. Excellent communication skills - confident engaging with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement. Experience working within a professional services, consultancy, or SME environment is advantageous. Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting. Lead the preparation of annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with senior stakeholders. Perform variance analysis and provide clear, commercially relevant commentary on financial performance. Act as a business partner to senior stakeholders, providing insight, challenge, and recommendations to drive commercial performance. Work cross-functionally with delivery, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment between financial performance and operational activity. Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations. Assist with the preparation and management of the annual external audit process. Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and procedures to support the growing business. Produce regular financial reports and dashboards for senior leadership and board-level stakeholders. Analyse revenue performance drivers including utilisation, day rates, and project profitability, providing insight at practice and client level. Own cash flow management, forecasting, and working capital analysis. Support finance transformation initiatives and business projects as the company scales. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax obligations, and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive efficiency across finance operations. Drive improvements in finance systems, reporting automation, and data integrity to support business growth.
