Transportation Operations and Planning Manager
About the role: We are seeking an experienced Transportation Operations and Planning Manager to lead and optimize our end-to-end supply chain and transportation operations. This role is ideal for a strategic, data-driven professional with a proven track record of driving cost savings, building high-performing teams, and scaling logistics infrastructure in a fast-paced environment. Must be based in New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago. Key responsibilities Lead transportation and logistics operations across domestic and international markets, overseeing multi-million dollar budgets Develop and execute procurement strategies, including supplier negotiations, contract management, and vendor onboarding Design and manage network optimization initiatives to reduce cost and improve delivery performance Build, lead, and mentor cross-functional logistics teams, fostering a high-performance culture Establish and monitor KPIs to measure operational efficiency, vendor compliance, service quality, and compliance. Partner with product, engineering, finance, and operations teams to align logistics strategies with business objectives Drive process improvement initiatives, including the development of SOPs and training programs Manage TMS, WMS, and other logistics technology platforms, leading integration and testing efforts as needed Oversee compliance with DOT, OSHA, HOS, and other applicable regulatory requirements Qualifications 8+ years of progressive logistics and supply chain experience Demonstrated experience managing large teams (30+ employees) Proven track record of cost reduction and operational improvement Experience with multi-region or global vendor management Proficiency with TMS, WMS, and YMS platforms Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with change management and cross-functional leadership Preferred qualifications Experience in e-commerce, final mile, or freight brokerage environments Background in both US and international logistics markets (e.g., US/Canada cross-border) Familiarity with demand forecasting and network design methodologies Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field Core Competencies Leadership: Ability to handle assigned tasks and work toward operational excellence.
