This is a place where we value trust and high performance, and we'll provide the environment and support needed for you to excel About the role and team We are looking for an innovative, driven Platform Engineer who contributes towards internal products and platforms for developers, with AI as a primary lever for efficiency. You will be responsible for the "Golden Paths" that our developers walk every day, leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions to create a seamless delivery experience. In this team, we own a Platform and several products that boost productivity and enable self-servicing for our developers. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the developer experience and uses their initiative, curiosity, and a problem-solving mentality to drive high-quality outputs. What you bring to the table Technical skillsCloud: AWS with knowledge of EKS, EC2, and IAM (or similar products with other Cloud providers) is highly desired. Networking: Proficiency in VPC architecture, security groups, Route53, and ELBs. Knowledge of Istio and/or service meshes in general is highly desired. Data: Knowledge of S3 and databases (PostgreSQL) is highly desired. Tooling: Kubernetes with either Helm or Kustomize (Helm preferred). Terraform, preferably with Atlantis. GitHub Actions and ArgoCD. Working knowledge of Python or Go is preferred. Certificate management experience is also a plus. Working in Platform Engineering at ZepzBring a Beginner's Mindset: You question why a process is "as-is," how it can be improved, and present practical steps to solve the problem. Mindset: You have a "work smarter" philosophy. You are expected to use AI to draft scripts, debug logs, and stay updated on how AI can optimize cloud costs or security. AI plays a leading role in your planning, research, documentation, and communication. Tooling: Familiarity with integrating AI into the developer workflow. This may include Claude skill generation, Copilot instructions, or AgentCore development. Attitude: You regularly create PRs with clear direction provided to your AI coding agents. You update documentation and lean on AI to give a first pass at issues as they occur. Low-value work is largely deferred to AI agents, freeing up your time for the advanced architectural problems we face. Values Communication: You appreciate the value of async communication in a global company. You consider the tone and level of jargon you use to effectively convey messages to stakeholders with varying levels of technical proficiency. An Ardent Planner: You are able to think sprints ahead, helping with epic planning and scoping out large bodies of work with the rest of the team. What you will focus on AI-Augmented Engineering: Use AI (Claude, Copilot) to accelerate IaC, document systems, and automate tasks, often via GHA workflows or bespoke Kubernetes services (Python/Go). Systems Design: Contribute to the platform's architectural roadmap, designing resilient patterns in collaboration with stakeholders (Compliance, Product). Internal Product Creation: Develop internal dashboards and products using Kubernetes/GitHub Actions and scripting (Python/Go) to deliver platform capabilities. Platform Infrastructure Management: Maintain, upgrade, and optimize underlying infrastructure, including EKS clusters and our CI/CD tooling (Github Actions, ArgoCD). Networking & Traffic Management: Configure and maintain network foundational layers (Cloudflare, VPCs, Route53, Load Balancers) and Istio Ingress Gateways for secure, efficient traffic. Alerting and Monitoring: Lead the upscale of infrastructure alerting; implement SLOs/SLAs on internal tools to boost developer productivity and business satisfaction. Security Resiliency: Collaborate with Security teams to harden and reinforce the platform and wider infrastructure. Bonus Points if you have Experience with any of these is highly desirable: Database administration (PostgreSQL preferred) AWS AgentCore/Bedrock development Incident management experience AI Literacy & ToolsAs Zepz continues to build AI into how we work, we expect everyone to engage with it as a core part of their role. For this position we are looking for: A genuine curiosity about AI and how it can be applied in your area of work — from accelerating analysis and insight generation, to improving how we design and deliver processes and communications. Practical experience using AI tools in a professional context — whether to connect information, draft content, build frameworks, or create insights from data. We want people who actively use AI to increase productivity, not those who are waiting to be told to. Strong AI literacy — an understanding of what AI assistants can and cannot do, how to prompt effectively, and how to critically evaluate AI-generated output before using it. Awareness of the ethical considerations and responsible use of AI in the workplace, particularly in the context of sensitive data, customer experience, and compliance.
