Summary

LSB Industries (“LSB”) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Category Manager – Capital to join our Procurement team. The primary function of this role is to provide procurement support to LSB’s Capital Projects team for equipment, materials, and services in the development & execution of capital projects to enable best-value outcomes while mitigating risk. Reporting to the Corporate Procurement Director, this position will be responsible for developing and executing strategies for assigned categories (e.g., fixed equipment, electrical equipment, etc.) that meet LSB’s requirements at the best overall value (e.g., quality, delivery, cost/price). This position can be performed on site at LSB’s corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City or remotely with 25% travel to our various facilities and suppliers. Responsibilities & Duties Serves as primary point of contact (for assigned categories) between Procurement and Project Managers & Engineers (the “Projects team”) as well as the commercial interface with suppliers & contractors to ensure cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met Collaborates with the Projects team to develop project procurement strategies, plans, and schedules Identifies opportunities to aggregate volumes for enhanced commercial terms (e.g., pricing, delivery, etc.) based on multi-year Capital Plan Leads and manages RFQ/RFP process from issuance to facilitating technical bid analysis & evaluation with the Project team; Develops award recommendation in collaboration with the Project team Leads supplier/contractor negotiations to ensure optimal commercial and contract terms Drafts & executes agreements (including Purchase Orders) with commercial terms and technical documentation while adhering to corporate policies & risk mitigation strategies Manage agreements in accordance with applicable payment & overall project schedules Manage & track equipment & material status through delivery including warehousing and temporary/long-term storage as necessary Monitor and manage supplier performance to include timely resolution of issues/risks to cost and/or schedule Communicate execution to Project Procurement Plan (to include issues/risks) to Project team Qualifies prospective suppliers via on-site assessments of their manufacturing/testing facility and quality management system; Subsequently performs periodic quality audits at qualified suppliers’ facilities Monitor and report on category performance, including benefits contribution (cost savings/avoidance), cost/price benchmarking, and supplier performance metrics QualificationsEducation Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or relevant discipline Experience Minimum of 5-10 years of Procurement experience with 3+ years of related capital projects Experience with equipment/supplies and services in a chemical plant, refinery or similar industry (Preferred) Experience with ERP Procurement module (JDE preferred) Required Skills / Competencies Demonstrated proficiency of end-to-end strategic sourcing process (including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution) applied to capital equipment Solid understanding of FEL phase gate process Commercial mindset coupled with strong analytical skills Proven experience in planning and leading negotiations to secure optimal terms Possess Plant Operator-centric mindset with technical and/or mechanical aptitude to understand project & process engineering concepts, equipment applications, and Operator/Plant needs Ability to work effectively with all levels of organization to resolve issues and influence a course of action Ability to foster effective teamwork and collaboration Proven ability to challenge conventional practices and influence change Strong initiative and positive attitude, with an orientation toward pursuing goals and achieving results Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-paced environment with several projects and tasks working constructively under pressure Passion for continuous improvement Good oral & written communication skills to include ability to generate/present reports for senior leadership Proficiency of MS Office to include advanced Excel skills LSB Chemical L.L.C. is an equal opportunity employer.
