Construction Client Accountant Remote | Construction Accounting | Sage 100 Contractor | Client-Facing You know construction accounting. You take pride in getting the details right. And you enjoy helping clients keep things accurate, organized, and moving forward. This is an ongoing client accounting role supporting multiple construction clients’ day-to-day operations, including payroll, reconciliations, billing, audit support, and construction accounting work within Sage 100 Contractor. This is a full-time W-2 role and not a software implementation, ERP consulting, or configuration position. Important — Please Read Before Applying Sage 100 Contractor experience is strongly preferred, and candidates with recent, hands-on Sage 100 Contractor experience will be prioritized. Candidates with strong construction accounting experience in comparable systems (Spectrum, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, Dynamics, etc.) may also be considered if they demonstrate strong payroll, job costing, WIP, and construction accounting depth. What You’ll Do As a Construction Client Accountant, you will: Manage day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of construction clients Personally process payroll, including payroll taxes and filings Perform bank reconciliations, sales tax filings, month-end close, billing support, and routine audit/year-end support Support job costing, WIP, progress billing, AP/AR, and related construction accounting needs Support clients with ongoing accounting needs and day-to-day Sage 100 Contractor accounting workflows Maintain accurate records and a clean audit trail across all client work Identify and resolve issues independently when possible Communicate clearly with clients and follow through on commitments What This Role Looks Like This role is: Hands-on construction accounting and payroll work Managing a portfolio of clients Working independently with a high level of ownership Supporting real, day-to-day client accounting needs Building trusted relationships with recurring clients ​​​​​​​This role is not: ERP implementation or software consulting High-level accounting strategy or oversight-only work Report writing or data analytics ​​​​​​​What You Bring ​​​​​​​Strong construction accounting experience Sage 100 Contractor experience strongly preferred Hands-on payroll experience, including payroll taxes and filings Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, progress billing, AP/AR, and month-end close Hands-on accounting experience with direct responsibility for completing the work, not solely reviewing or overseeing others Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities independently Strong organization, accuracy, and follow-through Comfort working in a high-autonomy environment ​​​​​​​Ability to step into an existing client environment and contribute with minimal ramp-up What Makes You Stand Out Experience working across multiple construction companies or clients Sage 100 Contractor experience Union payroll experience Experience supporting audits or year-end accounting needs Ability to explain accounting concepts clearly to non-accountants Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-driven environment What Success Looks Like Clients trust your accuracy and responsiveness Deadlines are consistently met across your client portfolio Books are clean, reconciled, and audit-ready Payroll and filings are accurate and on time Clients rely on you as their go-to for day-to-day accounting support ​​​​​​​How We Work High autonomy: you manage your own schedule and priorities Strong support: leadership, IT, and business applications teams are available when needed No ego, no drama: we show up, do the work, and support each other Teaching mindset: we help clients improve, not just complete tasks Compensation & Details U.S. work authorization required.
