Revenue Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Accountant to serve as a technical ASC 606 expert within our Finance organization. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, compliant, and scalable revenue recognition as the company continues to grow and evolve. The ideal candidate will own revenue-related technical accounting analysis, maintain and enhance revenue controls and policies, support complex deal reviews, and partner cross-functionally to provide insight into revenue forecasting and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Accounting & ASC 606 Ownership Serve as the primary subject matter expert on ASC 606, including contract identification, performance obligations, transaction price allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, and significant financing components. Prepare and review technical accounting memorandums for complex customer arrangements, including multi-element SaaS contracts, usage-based pricing, professional services, and partner agreements. Partner with Deal Desk, Legal, Sales, and RevOps to review contract terms and evaluate revenue recognition implications. Revenue Recognition & Controls Maintain and enhance revenue recognition controls to ensure accurate and compliant GAAP and SOX reporting. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to revenue and deferred revenue, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations. Support internal and external audits as the primary revenue accounting contact. Policies, Procedures & Scalability Develop and maintain revenue accounting policies and standard operating procedures. Partner with RevOps and Systems teams to improve quote-to-cash and revenue automation processes. Standalone Selling Price (SSP) Analysis Own the SSP framework, including methodology, analysis, refresh cadence, and documentation. Perform SSP analyses to support transaction price allocation in compliance with ASC 606. Forecasting, Profitability & Business Partnership Partner with FP&A and RevOps to assist with revenue forecasting, backlog analysis, and GAAP revenue timing. Provide accounting insights on new product launches, pricing strategies, and GTM changes.

Qualifications

Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. 2+ years of experience in revenue or technical accounting with strong ASC 606 exposure. SaaS revenue model experience and audit-ready documentation skills. Preferred Experience in a high-growth SaaS company Understanding of subscription, services, or usage‑based revenue models preferred Experience with ERP, CPQ, billing, and revenue sub-ledger systems in cluding NetSuite, Salesfore.com Proven cross-functional partnership with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and RevOps.
