Business Development Manager / Sales Executive – Flexible Packaging

As demand continues to grow, we are expanding our sales organization and seeking strong field-based sales professionals who can build new relationships, open doors, and grow territory revenue across the United States. This is a 100% remote, field-based Business Development role covering territory across the Eastern United States (East of Colorado). While remote in structure, this is not a desk-based sales position — success in this role requires consistent travel, in-person customer meetings, and hands-on relationship building with manufacturers and brand owners who require custom packaging solutions. We are hiring multiple levels of sales professionals, with flexibility depending on background and experience. The ideal candidate is currently selling flexible packaging or related materials and already understands the consumer packaged goods ecosystem. These individuals will be expected to actively travel into territory, leverage existing relationships, and continuously build new business opportunities with companies producing goods found in grocery stores, retail chains, and mass consumer markets. We are also open to high-performing B2B sales professionals from other industries who have a proven ability to prospect, open new accounts, and close business in a consultative sales environment. These individuals should be comfortable stepping into a technical manufacturing sales cycle and spending significant time in the field building relationships from the ground up. Additionally, we are seeking junior-level sales professionals who are eager to develop into full-cycle hunters. This level will focus heavily on outbound prospecting, cold calling, and supporting senior sales professionals by setting meetings and helping to build pipeline activity within assigned territories. Across all levels, this role is built around territory ownership, proactive outreach, and in-person engagement. The expectation is consistent outbound activity, frequent travel to customer sites, and a strong drive to open new accounts and grow revenue within assigned markets.
Responsibilities
Drive new business development across assigned territory through outbound prospecting and in-person sales activity. Travel regularly to meet with prospective and existing customers across the territory. Identify, target, and secure new opportunities within consumer packaged goods and manufacturing sectors. Build and maintain strong relationships with brand owners, manufacturers, and decision-makers. Manage full sales cycle activity including outreach, meetings, proposals, negotiation, and closing. Conduct face-to-face customer meetings, presentations, and site visits as a core part of the role. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities. Collaborate with internal teams to align customer needs with packaging solutions. Expand existing accounts while continuously hunting for new business. Maintain accurate reporting on pipeline activity, forecasts, and territory progress. Stay actively engaged in market trends, competitive activity, and industry developments. Junior Sales Responsibilities Conduct high-volume outbound calling and email prospecting. Schedule qualified meetings for senior sales professionals. Support territory development through research and lead generation. Assist with follow-up and pipeline coordination activities.
Qualifications
Senior Packaging Sales Professionals Proven experience selling flexible packaging, pouches, films, labels, corrugated products, or related packaging solutions. Existing relationships within consumer packaged goods manufacturing strongly preferred. Strong track record of new business development and revenue growth. Comfortable managing a territory with significant travel and in-person selling. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Experienced Sales Professionals from Other Industries Demonstrated success in high-performance B2B sales environments. Strong hunter mentality with a track record of opening new accounts. Ability to travel regularly and conduct in-person client meetings. Comfortable learning technical products and manufacturing-based solutions. Highly self-driven and competitive. Junior Business Development Representatives 1+ years of sales, business development, recruiting, or customer-facing experience preferred. Comfortable with high-volume outbound calling and prospecting. Strong communication and organizational skills. Highly motivated, coachable, and eager to grow into a full-cycle field sales role. Willingness to support senior sales reps and contribute to pipeline generation.
Compensation
Senior Packaging Sales Professionals Compensation package tailored to experience, industry expertise, existing relationships, and overall sales track record. Experienced Sales Professionals from Adjacent Industries Base salary: $80,000–$100,000. Junior Business Development Representatives Base salary: $70,000+.
