- Roadmap Development: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current architecture, data flows, and scalability patterns; produce an evolution roadmap that balances short‑term improvements with long‑term innovation.
- Technical Debt Management: Proactively identify, prioritize, and resolve critical technical challenges and legacy debt, ensuring the platform remains maintainable and performant.
- Engineering Standards: Establish and enforce backend engineering best practices, code quality standards, and observability guidelines through rigorous reviews and tooling enhancements.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provide expert guidance and mentorship to engineers across multiple teams, fostering autonomy, problem‑solving skills, and career growth.
- Cross‑Team Collaboration: Lead technical aspects of cross‑functional initiatives from design through production, influencing decisions and building consensus without direct managerial authority.
- Hands‑On Development: Contribute high‑quality, well‑tested code to critical backend services, taking end‑to‑end ownership of features and platform improvements.

- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, as well as messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, and gRPC.
- Proven track record in performance optimization, scalability engineering, and high‑availability design.

- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong grasp of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption.
- Ability to drive observability initiatives—metrics, tracing, logging—to ensure platform health.
- Collaborative mindset; comfortable influencing without direct authority.
