Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Why arenaflex?

arenaflex is a proud, family‑owned transportation partner that has been serving the Northeast corridor since 1992. Based in Liverpool, NY, we operate a tight‑knit fleet of 125 trailers and a dedicated team of 15 professional drivers. Our longevity is built on a simple philosophy: treat drivers like family, give customers reliable service, and keep the wheels turning safely every day. As a regional leader, arenaflex blends the stability of a long‑standing carrier with the agility of a modern logistics operation, offering you the best of both worlds – consistent home time, competitive earnings, and a supportive work environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated, safety‑focused, and customer‑oriented individuals to join our team as Dedicated Local Truck Drivers (W‑2, Solo). In this role, you will operate a 2014‑or‑newer Freightliner or Western Star tractor, handling dry‑van loads for our dedicated customers. Your daily routine will involve departing from our Liverpool terminal, completing approximately 600 miles of drop‑and‑hook work, and returning to the terminal—and ultimately to your own home—each night. This is a day‑shift, local position that guarantees you five days on the road followed by two days off, with home time every weekend.

Key Responsibilities

Core Driving Duties

  • Perform thorough pre‑trip inspections of the vehicle, equipment, and cargo to ensure compliance with safety, legal, and company standards.
  • Execute drop‑and‑hook operations efficiently, securing loads and releasing trailers at customer facilities.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area inside the cab and on the terminal floor.
  • Adhere to a strict schedule, being available for pickups and deliveries that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Complete all required paperwork—including invoices, load orders, and handheld reports—accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain a DOT‑compliant driver’s log, ensuring all hours‑of‑service regulations are followed.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers through courteous, professional interactions at each stop.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including FMCSA and DOT guidelines.
  • Report any safety concerns, vehicle defects, or incidents to the operations team immediately.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Utilize company‑provided technology (GPS, electronic logging devices, and load management tools) to enhance route efficiency and safety.

Qualifications – What We Require

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) without restrictions: no manual transmission endorsement (E), air‑brake endorsement (L/Z), semi‑trailer restriction (O), or intrastate‑only restriction (K).
  • Minimum of 12 months of recent tractor‑trailer experience, preferably in a dedicated or line‑haul environment.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations in the past three years.
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to work a consistent day‑shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with drop‑and‑hook operations and familiarity with local freight lanes in the Northeast.
  • Previous employment with a family‑owned or mid‑size carrier, demonstrating an appreciation for close‑knit team dynamics.
  • Knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELDs) and basic troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety through participation in safety incentive programs.

Skills & Competencies

  • Safety First: Unwavering dedication to safe driving practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to represent arenaflex professionally at customer sites, building trust and repeat business.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage routes to meet delivery windows while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly address unexpected issues such as traffic delays, equipment malfunctions, or paperwork discrepancies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and office staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using handheld devices, GPS navigation, and basic truck diagnostics.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Weekly earnings ranging from $1,200 to $1,500 on average, based on mileage and performance.
  • Consistent mileage of 3,000–3,250 miles per week, providing predictable income.
  • Full‑time W‑2 employment with a dedicated truck (no slip‑seating).
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and eligible dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions.
  • Paid holidays and vacation time to support work‑life balance.
  • Regular safety bonuses and performance incentives.
  • Access to a modern fleet of 2014‑or‑newer Freightliner and Western Star tractors, equipped with the latest safety and comfort features.
