A Bachelor's degree in a related field is also required. Conduct thorough and timely investigations into allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse within social services programs. Gather and analyze evidence through various methods such as reviewing documents, conducting interviews, and utilizing data analysis tools. Present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to relevant stakeholders, including management and legal counsel. Collaborate with other team members and departments to share information, resources, and findings. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards while handling sensitive information and investigations. Stay up-to-date on current fraud trends and techniques, and implement strategies to prevent and detect fraud within social services programs. Build and maintain relationships with external agencies, such as law enforcement and other government entities, to assist in investigations and share information. Develop and implement fraud prevention and detection strategies and processes to mitigate risks and identify potential areas of vulnerability. Conduct regular training and education for staff and stakeholders on fraud awareness and prevention. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and policies related to fraud investigation and prevention. Provide support and guidance to social services staff on identifying and reporting potential cases of fraud, waste, and abuse. Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed reports, documentation, and records related to investigations. Proactively identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of fraud investigations. Represent the department in legal proceedings related to fraud investigations, including testifying in court. Continuously evaluate and improve the fraud investigation process to ensure the highest level of integrity and accountability in social services programs.
