Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience

  • Greet every customer and patient with a warm, genuine smile, establishing immediate rapport and a sense of welcome.
  • Proactively identify customer needs, offering assistance, product recommendations, and solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Resolve inquiries, concerns, and complaints swiftly and courteously, ensuring each interaction ends with a satisfied and confident customer.
  • Model and share best‑practice service habits—such as eye contact, active listening, and courteous language—with teammates to elevate the overall store experience.
  • Demonstrate arenaflex service traits, including anticipating needs, offering help before being asked, and following through until the customer is fully satisfied.

Retail Operations

  • Operate the assigned cash register with precision, handling cash, credit, and electronic payments while maintaining a balanced drawer.
  • Process transactions accurately, including voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges, adhering to arenaflex policies and local regulations.
  • Recommend complementary and higher‑margin items, driving incremental sales through thoughtful upselling and cross‑selling techniques.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well‑merchandised counters and shelves; conduct regular inventory checks and update records as directed.
  • Receive, price, and stock merchandise, ensuring accurate placement and compliance with visual standards set by the store manager or shift leader.
  • Implement asset protection procedures to minimize shrinkage, detect potential loss, and safeguard store profitability.
  • Observe and enforce state and local laws governing regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco, ensuring responsible sales practices.
  • Construct and refresh promotional displays, seasonal setups, and special‑sale merchandising, contributing to a dynamic shopping environment.
  • Apply FIFO (first‑in, first‑out) inventory rotation for perishable items, separating raw and pre‑cooked foods according to safety protocols.
  • Utilize store systems and equipment confidently, including point‑of‑sale terminals, barcode scanners, and inventory management tools.
  • Provide specialized assistance in the photo services area—operating digital passport photo stations, poster printers, and creative machines while suggesting promotional photo products.
  • Manage web‑pick‑up orders by monitoring the Picture Care Plus system, accurately picking items, and delivering them to customers promptly upon arrival.
  • Support both interior and exterior store upkeep, ensuring a tidy, inviting, and safe environment for shoppers and staff alike.
  • Collaborate respectfully with coworkers, adhering to arenaflex policies, and completing any special assignments or projects as directed.

Training & Personal Development

  • Participate in ongoing training sessions, completing performance‑linked learning modules (PPLs) assigned by managers or corporate.
  • Seek out opportunities to expand product knowledge, operational expertise, and customer‑service skills through internal resources and mentorship.
  • Provide feedback on training effectiveness, helping shape future learning initiatives that benefit the entire arenaflex team.

Essential Qualifications

  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except where local regulations provide alternatives).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet store demands.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping people.
  • Basic math proficiency for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 25 lb) as required by store duties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least six months of experience in a retail or customer‑service environment, preferably within a high‑traffic setting.
  • Prior experience working for arenaflex or a comparable national retailer, providing familiarity with fast‑paced store operations.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional service, meeting sales targets, and adhering to loss‑prevention protocols.
  • Comfort with technology, including point‑of‑sale systems, inventory software, and digital photo equipment.
