Role Overview
The SAP CAR Consultant is responsible for the end‑to‑end analysis, design, configuration, and integration of SAP CAR solutions. You will collaborate with architects, developers, technical service teams, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust, scalable SAP configurations that align with federal standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Blueprinting: Lead the creation of functional designs, detailed process maps, and configuration rationales for SAP CAR, ensuring alignment with POS, Digital Order Management, and SAP S/4HANA ecosystems.
- Configuration & Enhancement: Perform configuration work across SAP modules, develop enhancements, and integrate external applications such as POS terminals and reporting platforms.
- Full SDLC Delivery: Drive the solution through the entire Software Development Life Cycle—blueprint, design, build, test, and deployment—while maintaining rigorous documentation standards.
- Business Process Documentation: Produce comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows) objects, test scripts, and user guides.
- Integration Management: Coordinate integration activities between SAP CAR, SAP S/4HANA, and external systems (e.g., POS, Data Lake), ensuring data integrity and seamless transaction flow.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, client subject‑matter experts, and senior architects to align technical solutions with strategic objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; troubleshoot issues; and provide post‑go‑live support to guarantee sustained performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and enhanced reporting capabilities within the SAP CAR landscape.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience integrating POS systems using SAP CAR POS Data Transfer and Audit (POS DTA).
- At least 2 years of practical experience with SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) as it interfaces with POS DTA.
- Demonstrated familiarity with integrating SAP solutions with reporting platforms such as Data Lakes or business intelligence tools.
- U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship) to meet federal eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Have Experience
- Exposure to additional SAP CAR functionalities, including Inventory Visibility and Omnichannel Article Availability.
- Prior experience with SAP functional configuration in a DoD or public‑sector environment.
- Hands‑on delivery experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly in finance or logistics modules.
- Knowledge of SAP FI (Finance), CO (Controlling), SD (Sales & Distribution), or CRM (Customer Relationship Management) modules.
- Certifications in SAP CAR, SAP S/4HANA, or related technologies are a strong advantage.
