Why This Role Matters

In the fast‑paced world of retail and manufacturing, accurate inventory management is the backbone of customer satisfaction, cost control, and strategic growth. As an Inventory Control Clerk – Data Entry Specialist, you will be the guardian of arenaflex’s inventory data, ensuring that every part, supply, and product is recorded, tracked, and reported with precision. Your work will directly influence purchasing decisions, warehouse efficiency, and the overall profitability of our North Carolina operations.

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Clerk performs essential data‑entry and clerical duties that support the ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing of inventory materials for arenaflex’s manufacturing and distribution facilities. Working under the guidance of the Inventory Manager, you will leverage a computerized management information system to maintain flawless records, verify the accuracy of reports, and provide timely information to cross‑functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Accuracy & Analysis: Analyze, summarize, and validate numerical information, ensuring that all inventory figures are correct and align with physical counts.
  • System Entry & Maintenance: Input and update inventory data using arenaflex’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, guaranteeing that every receipt, issue, and transfer is captured in real time.
  • Report Generation & Review: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports; cross‑check computer printouts for errors and confirm that calculations meet specification standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain both electronic and paper records, organizing files, collating documents, and ensuring that all documentation complies with internal audit requirements.
  • Clerical Support: Perform general office duties such as filing, scanning, and distributing documents to relevant departments, while providing prompt assistance to colleagues who need inventory information.
  • Collaboration: Communicate inventory status, discrepancies, and updates to purchasing, logistics, and production teams, facilitating smooth workflow across the supply chain.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline data‑entry processes, recommend enhancements to the inventory management system, and participate in periodic process‑improvement projects.
  • All Other Duties as Assigned: Flexibly support additional tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency of arenaflex’s operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly to a diverse audience.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with ERP or inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, or arenaflex’s proprietary system).
  • Prior exposure to retail or manufacturing inventory processes, including receiving, put‑away, and cycle counting.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical methods for inventory analysis (e.g., ABC classification, safety stock calculations).
  • Certification such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar.

Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies, verify data integrity, and maintain meticulous records.
  • Analytical Thinking: Comfort interpreting numerical data, identifying trends, and making data‑driven recommendations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating complex software interfaces, troubleshooting minor system issues, and learning new tools quickly.
  • Team Orientation: Collaborative mindset that supports cross‑departmental initiatives and fosters a positive work environment.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities, seasonal demand spikes, and evolving business needs.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform light to moderate lifting (up to 59 lbs), repetitive bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
