Role Overview – Guest Experience Captain

The Guest Experience Captain is the primary point of contact for guests as they enter, explore, and depart from our venue. You will lead a team of front‑of‑house associates, coordinate with back‑of‑house staff, and collaborate with management to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming atmosphere. Your responsibilities will span from greeting guests with a genuine smile to enforcing house policies, handling guest concerns, and assisting with special events.

Key Responsibilities

  • First Impressions: Greet every guest with enthusiasm, ensuring they feel welcomed and informed from the moment they walk through the door.
  • Safety & Security: Act as the initial point of contact for safety matters across all zones—including entryways, gaming floors, bar areas, dining rooms, private event spaces, and restrooms—and promptly report any incidents to management.
  • Guest Guidance: Assist guests in navigating the venue, answering questions about game rentals, kiosk locations, menu options, and event schedules.
  • Service Excellence: Deliver timely, accurate service while managing wait times, communicating updates, and ensuring guests receive the best possible experience.
  • Conflict Resolution: Diffuse challenging situations with professionalism, protecting both guest satisfaction and staff well‑being.
  • Facility Upkeep: Support the maintenance and organization of gaming areas, including billiards, shuffleboard, and rental equipment; ensure supplies are stocked and equipment is clean.
  • Event Support: Assist with set‑up and breakdown of special events, coordinating with management to meet specific client requirements.
  • Policy Enforcement: Uphold arenaflex house policies, monitor guest compliance, and communicate any violations to leadership.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a cooperative work environment by maintaining positive relationships with all team members, encouraging open communication, and sharing best practices.
  • Professional Appearance: Adhere to dress guidelines, presenting a neat, clean, and professional image at all times.
  • Administrative Duties: Keep supervisors informed of any unusual or significant matters, suggest corrective actions, and document incidents as required.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about new games, menu items, and promotional events to provide accurate information to guests.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English; ability to read and interpret signage, policies, and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and inventory checks.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hospitality, entertainment, or gaming venue.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a customer‑facing role.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and basic bar service.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and kiosk technology.
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, or basic safety training.

  • Problem‑Solving: Quick thinking and resourcefulness when addressing guest concerns or operational challenges.

  • Physical Stamina: Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 lb for the duration of a shift.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure all areas meet arenaflex standards for cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
  • Team Orientation: Collaborative mindset that encourages teamwork and shared success.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Our Guest Experience Captains thrive in a vibrant, noisy, and dynamic setting. The role requires regular movement throughout the venue, including:

  • Standing or walking for 100 % of the shift.
  • Lifting and carrying items up to 30 lb.
  • Working in both hot (kitchen, near cooking equipment) and cold (freezer) environments.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and sweeping.
  • Ability to read handwritten notes and operate electronic devices.
