Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated IT Customer Support Representative to join our Remote Diagnostic Team. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical liaison for our network of repair facilities, providing diagnostic, programming, calibration, and repair recommendations for a wide range of vehicle makes and models. You will work from a modern call‑center environment, leveraging your automotive knowledge and IT proficiency to ensure that partners receive fast, accurate, and courteous support.
Why This Role Matters
Every day, arenaflex’s partners rely on timely diagnostic data to keep repair cycles short and customer satisfaction high. As a Remote Diagnostic Technician, you will be the critical bridge between sophisticated vehicle electronics and the technicians who need clear, actionable information. Your ability to diagnose issues, guide remote technicians, and educate partners on the value of diagnostic scans directly impacts the efficiency of repair shops and the safety of drivers on the road.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary Partner Contact: Act as the first point of contact for service partners, handling inbound calls and managing the entire diagnostic workflow within a call‑center setting.
- Technical Expertise Delivery: Provide accurate diagnostic and technical guidance in a customer‑service‑centric manner, ensuring partners understand the steps required to resolve vehicle issues.
- First‑Call Resolution: Strive to achieve final resolution on as many vehicle scans as possible during the initial call, escalating only when necessary while keeping the partner informed and engaged.
- Partner Education: Explain the importance of diagnostic scans, the benefits of proper calibration, and how these processes improve repair outcomes and reduce repeat visits.
- Support Remote Technicians: Assist remote field technicians with required diagnostic tests, technical evaluations, and data interpretation to facilitate seamless repairs.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record all interactions, diagnostic findings, and recommendations in arenaflex’s CRM system, ensuring traceability and compliance.
- Policy Adherence: Follow all arenaflex policies, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines to maintain a secure and responsible work environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for process enhancements, share best practices with teammates, and stay current on emerging automotive technologies.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support the broader goals of the Remote Diagnostic Team and arenaflex’s customer success initiatives.
Minimum Requirements – Education & Experience
- At least 6 months of hands‑on experience in the automotive industry, preferably in an entry‑level technical or support role.
- Graduation from a technical or vocational school, or completion of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) training programs.
- High School Diploma or GED is required; additional certifications in automotive diagnostics or IT support are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturer acronyms, terminology, and service procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new diagnostic software platforms and tools.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to create reports, spreadsheets, and presentations that support business objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of delivering clear technical explanations to non‑technical audiences.
Core Skills & Competencies
- Analytical Ability: Comfortable performing calculations, interpreting ratios, percentages, and graphs to diagnose vehicle issues accurately.
- Problem‑Solving: Ability to follow structured troubleshooting procedures, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
- Customer Service Orientation: Empathetic, patient, and proactive in addressing partner concerns, ensuring a positive experience throughout the support interaction.
- Time Management: Efficiently juggle multiple calls, diagnostic tasks, and documentation responsibilities while meeting service level agreements.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools, software interfaces, and basic networking concepts relevant to remote support.
- Collaboration: Work closely with remote field technicians, product engineers, and internal support teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment where new vehicle models, software updates, and industry standards emerge regularly.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The role is primarily office‑based, but occasional physical activity is required to fully understand the environments in which our partners operate.
- Occasional standing, walking, squatting, bending, and reaching while reviewing diagnostic data or assisting field technicians.
- Potential exposure to noisy workshop environments, extreme temperatures, and confined spaces when collaborating on‑site with partners.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds when handling equipment or assisting with vehicle inspections.
- Periodic travel, including overnight stays, may be required to support special projects or on‑site training sessions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection when visiting partner facilities.
Compensation, Benefits & Perks
arenaflex offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22 to $27 per hour, commensurate with experience and expertise. In addition to base pay, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
