Role Overview – Customer Engineer (Data & AI Platforms)
We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Engineer – Data Focused to join our Technical Products and Services team. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers worldwide, guiding them through the deployment, optimization, and ongoing management of data‑centric AI platforms. You will combine deep technical expertise with consultative acumen to ensure that client environments are healthy, performant, and aligned with best‑in‑class practices. This is a remote, full‑time position based in the United States (TX), offering the flexibility to work from home while collaborating with a diverse, global team.
Key Responsibilities
- Data AI Platform Management: Assist clients in deploying, configuring, and managing solutions on platforms such as Foundry, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Databricks.
- Machine Learning Implementation: Design, develop, and operationalize machine‑learning models that generate actionable insights and support data‑driven decision‑making.
- Azure SQL & Storage Solutions: Architect, implement, and maintain Azure SQL databases and storage architectures to guarantee high availability, scalability, and optimal performance.
- Microsoft Fabric – Data Engineering: Leverage Microsoft Fabric to streamline data lifecycle management, integration pipelines, and analytics workloads.
- Customer Consultation: Engage directly with client stakeholders to understand business objectives, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver tailored recommendations.
- Performance Optimization: Conduct thorough analyses of data workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement enhancements that improve throughput and reduce latency.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide proactive and reactive support, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure a seamless customer experience.

Essential Qualifications
- Extensive hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and related data platforms.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and deploy machine‑learning models in production environments.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and its data‑engineering capabilities.
- Solid understanding of Azure SQL Database architecture, performance tuning, and security best practices.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills for complex, multi‑layered technical challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for translating technical concepts into business value.

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks
