Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst – Data Entry, Legal & Reporting Specialist to join our dynamic finance team in Nigeria. This role is pivotal to the Legal Content Reporting Center of Excellence (CoE) and will involve preparing, reviewing, and delivering high‑quality financial statements, board packs, and regulatory disclosures in compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and local GAAP standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Leader, Legal Content Reporting (LER) Lead, and the broader Accounting & Reporting community to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and strategic insight across all reporting deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Independently draft financial statements in accordance with IFRS legal reporting requirements, ensuring completeness and accuracy against the approved plan.
  • Board & Advisory Pack Creation: Design and assemble board and advisory committee presentation packs, adhering to strict delivery timelines and formatting standards.
  • End‑to‑End Legal Content Review: Lead the full lifecycle of legal content review, coordinating with the Finance Leader, LER Lead, Accounting & Reporting team, and Finance Controller.
  • GAAP Conversion & Gap Analysis: Prepare local GAAP to US GAAP reconciliations, identify material differences, and propose actionable solutions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Conduct client calls, present analysis of reporting data, and provide insights to senior management during executive meetings.
  • Cross‑Functional Coordination: Oversee the delivery of multiple business units simultaneously, performing peer reviews and ensuring consistency across reports.
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Supervise and support junior analysts (Band 28), fostering a collaborative environment and encouraging professional growth.
  • Research & Regulatory Updates: Conduct ongoing research on GAAP, standards, and regulations; translate changes into practical implementation plans.
  • Control & Governance Assurance: Ensure robust controls and governance frameworks are embedded within all reporting processes.
  • Automation & Process Improvement: Lead initiatives such as robotic process automation (RPA) and data normalization to enhance efficiency and data quality.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage Workiva Wdesk, HFM, and other reporting tools to streamline legal, regulatory, and board reporting activities.
  • Reporting to Leadership: Provide regular updates to the Finance Leader, LER CoE, and other senior stakeholders on progress, risks, and opportunities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CA, CPA, ACCA preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of post‑qualification experience in public accounting, audit, or legal content reporting.
  • Strong foundation in financial accounting and reporting, with a deep understanding of IFRS, Indian GAAP, and US GAAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex reporting standards to real‑world scenarios.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel; experience with Essbase, logical programming, or Prophet is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA) with relevant work experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with Workiva Wdesk, HFM, or similar reporting platforms.
  • Exposure to automation tools such as RPA, data‑mapping, and workflow optimization.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new processes, tools, and regulatory changes.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
