Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Remote Data Governance Team Lead to champion the design, implementation, and evolution of arenaflex’s Data Governance capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of data stewardship, quality assurance, compliance, and business intelligence, providing strategic direction and hands‑on leadership to ensure that our data assets are trustworthy, accessible, and leveraged to their fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Define, develop, and roll out arenaflex’s Data Governance framework, encompassing Data Literacy, Stewardship, Quality, Metadata Management, Master Data Management, and Data as an Asset.
• Capability Management: Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of each governance capability, establishing workflows, standards, policies, and continuous improvement plans.
• Collaboration & Influence: Partner with cross‑functional teams—including IT, Business Intelligence, Security, and Product Management—to embed governance standards across all data pipelines and analytics initiatives.
• Metrics & KPI Development: Work with the Data Governance Executive Committee to design, track, and report on key performance indicators that measure adoption, data quality, and compliance.
• Tool Evaluation & Automation: Research, recommend, and implement market‑leading data governance platforms; automate repetitive processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Product Ownership: Act as the Product Owner for governance‑related data products, ensuring clear roadmaps, backlog prioritization, and delivery of high‑value features.
• Advocacy & Communication: Serve as the spokesperson for governance capabilities, translating technical standards into business‑friendly language and driving cultural adoption throughout arenaflex.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all data handling practices comply with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and industry‑specific aviation regulations.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in Data Analytics, Data Governance, or related fields.
• Proven track record of implementing at least one Data Governance capability (e.g., Data Quality, Metadata Management) in a large‑scale organization.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor, and report on governance metrics that drive adoption and performance.
• Experience working with Business Intelligence tools, Data Lakes, and Data Warehouses.
• Hands‑on experience handling sensitive data (PII, SPII, PHI) and familiarity with relevant regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data‑modeling concepts.
• Relevant certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGSP (Data Governance and Stewardship Professional) are highly desirable.

• Change‑management experience, especially in identifying downstream data impacts for regulatory reporting.
