Project Coordinator – Energy / Construction (Power & Utilities)

Position Summary The Project Coordinator supports the planning and execution of power generation and energy infrastructure projects by coordinating between Customers, Operations, and Finance teams. This role plays a key part in project setup, scheduling, forecasting, change order management, and invoicing, while ensuring clear communication across all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up new projects by reviewing customer purchase orders and coordinating with Operations and Finance
- Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and tracking logs
- Monitor project activities and milestones to ensure timely execution
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and schedules with field teams
- Develop and manage monthly forecasts (revenue, billing, timelines)
- Analyze variances between forecasted and actual performance
- Create and manage change orders related to scope, delays, or field conditions
- Coordinate approvals with customers and internal teams
- Support customer invoicing based on milestones and contract terms
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding updates and changes
- Identify risks and escalate issues related to schedule, scope, or cost
- Ensure alignment between Operations, Finance, and customers
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role in power generation, energy, or construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction workflows and project execution
- Experience managing change orders, billing, and forecasting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in project tracking tools, spreadsheets, and scheduling software
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with power plants, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with construction contracts and progress billing
- Experience working with field crews and subcontractors
- Strong customer-facing and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced, evolving project environments
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 – $85,000 (based on experience)
