Senior Backend Engineer Location: Remote Experience Level: Senior Primary Tech Stack: Go / Golang, AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker We are hiring for our client, a U.S.-based seed-stage startup building mission-critical infrastructure software for large-scale data center environments. Their platform helps monitor environmental conditions, predict failures before outages happen, and improve efficiency across complex physical infrastructure. The company already has strong traction with large infrastructure customers and is now moving from MVP stage toward an enterprise-scale platform. This is a great opportunity for a senior backend engineer who enjoys building reliable distributed systems, working on cloud infrastructure, and taking real ownership in a fast-moving startup environment. About the Role: We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong experience in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, reliability, and backend architecture. This role will help scale the backend systems powering real-time monitoring across data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with Go, AWS, APIs, data pipelines, and high-availability systems. This is not a typical SaaS CRUD backend role. We are looking for someone who can think deeply about systems, reliability, scalability, and infrastructure. Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and scale distributed backend systems
• Work on real-time sensor and event data ingestion
• Build backend infrastructure using Go / Golang
• Support cloud infrastructure scaling on AWS
• Help improve multi-region and high-availability architecture
• Build and maintain internal and external APIs
• Work on edge device orchestration and cloud integration
• Improve system reliability, observability, and performance
• Support data pipelines and analytics infrastructure
• Contribute to enterprise-readiness and international infrastructure scaling
• Work closely with a small technical team to solve complex infrastructure problems

Requirements:

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong production experience with Go / Golang
• Experience building and scaling distributed systems
• Strong systems thinking and backend architecture skills
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud infrastructure
• Strong API design and architecture experience
• Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL
• Comfortable working in startup environments
• Ability to operate independently with minimal handholding
• Comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and high ownership

Nice to Have:

• Experience with infrastructure or platform engineering
• Experience with edge computing or device management
• Docker or containerization experience
• Redis or caching experience
• Experience with reliability, observability, or monitoring systems
• IoT or real-world systems experience
• Experience with high-availability, multi-region, or event-driven systems
• Experience working at high-scale technology companies
